[Man City] Semenyo deal confirmed! £134m-yen mega signing to fuel the title push
Manchester City officially announced on the 9th that they have completed the permanent signing of Ghana international forward Antoine Semenyo (26) from Bournemouth.
For a City side ravaged by injuries, this is their first and biggest move of the winter window — and the scale of the deal has raised plenty of eyebrows.
Antoine Semenyo: long-term deal through 2031
The Premier League’s hottest in-form attacker this season, with joint-third 10 league goals for Bournemouth, now joins Manchester City under Pep Guardiola.
- Transfer fee: up to £64m (approx. ¥13.4bn)
- Breakdown: £62.5m base + £1.5m in add-ons
- Payment structure: the full amount spread over 24 months — an unusual instalment plan for a deal this size
- Contract length: 5½ years, until June 2031
- Squad number: 42 (not a Yaya Touré tribute — tied to his personal roots)
- Immediate impact: expected to be in the squad for the FA Cup tie vs Exeter on Saturday the 10th

Semenyo scored the winner right at the end as a farewell gift.
Please be that guy for City too.

Semenyo is basically Doku with finishing.
Pep should try benching Haaland once and run Marmoush.

Isn’t Semenyo more of a right-side guy?

That parting goal was cold.
10 league goals now — more than all City wingers combined lol.

Wait, that was a birthday goal too?

He’s scoring even now. Could be City’s saviour.

If you’re buying Semenyo, stop with the sideways passing.
Vertical. Direct. Otherwise what’s the point?

Attack’s been stale with the current squad.
Semenyo feels like the right kind of shock to the system.

Savinho’s out 8 weeks with a calf injury.
Thank god we got Semenyo.

Hope this doesn’t happen:
“After the first training session I realised a lot. Went home and told my agent,
‘Can we cancel the contract and go back to Bournemouth?’”

That’s Alexis Sánchez vibes right there.

Presentation was cool though, gotta admit.
