【Man City】Winter’s Biggest Deal So Far — Ghana FW Antoine Semenyo Agreed, €137m Fee

Manchester City have reached a club-to-club agreement with Bournemouth for the transfer of Ghana international forward Antoine Semenyo (26). The news was reported by transfer market authority Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer fee is reported to be £65 million (approx. €137 million), making it the most expensive deal of this winter transfer window so far.

■ Antoine Semenyo: The “Driving Force” Pep Wanted

Semenyo turns 26 today, January 7, and couldn’t have asked for a better birthday present — a step up to a genuine European giant.

Winning the race: Chelsea, Tottenham, and Manchester United were all interested, but Semenyo himself strongly preferred playing under Pep Guardiola, which proved decisive.

Playing style: A powerful all-round attacker blessed with elite pace and physicality, capable of operating both wide and centrally. At Bournemouth this season, he’s posting career-best numbers in goals and assists, and City see him as a much-needed scoring option beyond Erling Haaland during periods of attacking drought.

What’s next: A medical is scheduled for January 8, after which Semenyo is expected to sign a long-term contract.

So Semenyo is basically a done deal now?
Front office keeps impressing me, but when transfers are front-office driven, I always worry Pep will sulk and freeze the guy out.
Just look at how Nico got treated, even though he was essential.

Semenyo feels like one of those wild guys who shine at mid-table clubs.
Guess we’re betting on him becoming a Doku-type.

312: Anonymous Fan 2025/12/24 17:49
So Semenyo comes in to fight Doku for LW?
That probably means Marmoush is gone too. Pep is ruthless.
RW is basically locked anyway — Cherki’s quality is insane.
Starting spots at City are brutal.

Watching Semenyo, all I see is shooting.
Honestly… what’s the difference between him and Marmoush?

317: Anonymous Fan 2025/12/24 19:40
Guardiola approved it, but it was Viana pushing hardest for Semenyo — Romano said it on YouTube.

People forget Semenyo is homegrown.
A homegrown player who’s City-level and reasonably priced is rare.
We were so tight on HG slots last summer we kept Stones and sold Akanji.
From an SD perspective, this move makes total sense — especially with Trafford likely gone next summer.

He loves shooting so much I feel like other players’ numbers will drop.

345: Anonymous Fan 2025/12/25 13:30
Are we really sure Semenyo is the right move?
I’m honestly just nervous.

730: Anonymous Fan 2025/12/28 22:08
Semenyo wants to join City early, but Bournemouth’s manager wants to run him into the ground until deadline day lol.

731: Anonymous Fan 2025/12/28 22:14
Wasn’t there a buyout clause valid until January 10?

732: Anonymous Fan 2025/12/28 22:24
Yeah, and that’s why they want to use him right up until then.
Bournemouth are sliding badly.

738: Anonymous Fan 2025/12/29 08:57
Anyone know when Doku is back?

739: Anonymous Fan 2025/12/29 08:59
Mid to late January.

740: Anonymous Fan 2025/12/29 09:07
Yeah then we need Semenyo ASAP.

824: Anonymous Fan 2025/12/31 23:44
Didn’t even realize Semenyo was homegrown until now.

826: Anonymous Fan 2026/01/01 00:57
He grew up in London, failed a bunch of club trials, and finally got picked up by the Robins lol.

Just get Semenyo here already.

95: Anonymous Fan 2026/01/02 07:13
With Semenyo, we can finally weaponize long throws again.

171: Anonymous Fan 2026/01/03 18:44
Semenyo fixes the winger finishing problem instantly.

179: Anonymous Fan 2026/01/04 03:33
Right now he looks like a downgraded Doku with worse dribbling…
But he’s still better than Savio, right? RIGHT??

188: Anonymous Fan 2026/01/04 16:10
Doku and Semenyo are totally different players.
Semenyo can force openings and pass even in tight spaces, and he’s lethal in transition.

189: Anonymous Fan 2026/01/04 16:17
Doku–Haaland–Semenyo front three would be elite even by Premier League standards.

192: Anonymous Fan 2026/01/04 16:41
Semenyo isn’t truly two-footed like Cherki or Dembélé.
Against low blocks, I’m not sure he’s much different from Marmoush.

Antoine Semenyo to Manchester City — paperwork completed with Bournemouth.
£65m fee, medical on Thursday, long-term contract incoming.
Chose #MCFC over other top-four clubs because he wants to work under Pep.

628: Anonymous Fan 2026/01/07 08:39
So Semenyo really wanted Pep.
Pep brand still hits hard.

633: Anonymous Fan 2026/01/07 11:09
With this many wingers, do we really need Semenyo?
If Grealish goes, fine — but is someone else definitely leaving?

636: Anonymous Fan 2026/01/07 11:21
When we’re playing permanent 3-1-6, “winger” doesn’t even mean anything anymore.

637: Anonymous Fan 2026/01/07 11:25
Yeah but… Semenyo wants Pep, so…

646: Anonymous Fan 2026/01/07 13:54
Forget Semenyo, get a CB already.

652: Anonymous Fan 2026/01/07 17:15
Isn’t Guehi coming for CB anyway?
What other positions even need signings?
